Groupama Portfolio Increased Car and Life Insurance Clients
The French company Groupama insurance policyholders increases its portfolio in the fields of car insurance and life insurance in Turkey, thanks to the expansion strategy that is taking place in the country. One of the highlights in this regard is the creation in the Turkish market societies “Groupama Sigorta” and “Groupama Emekilik”, born from the merger of insurance companies and Basak Güven.
With this action, the objective is to bring all activities under the brand of Groupama, and thereby increase its prestige and familiarity of the Turkish population. In fact, the insurer has become the fifth car insurance company in Turkey, while trying to consolidate his second position in life insurance, with a turnover of 562 million euros in 2008.
Jean François Lemoux, International Managing Director of Groupama, he referred to the merger as follows: “We have merged two very well established companies in the Turkish market to combine local knowledge and expertise and international. The new insurance group will continue to offer a range of competitive products (life insurance, pensions, home insurance, liability, auto insurance and agricultural insurance) to both the needs of more than 3 million customers. To do this, will have a network of 2000 agents, 900 employees and agreements with major institutions, among which agricultural cooperatives TKK 1900.
With the growth potential that represents today the Turkish market, Groupama is expected to generate a turnover of 1,500 million dollars and continue over the next three years, growing at a faster rate than Turkish insurance market.
